The President of Somalia has traveled to the regional state of HirShabelle for talks with local leaders.
President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud arrived in HirShabelle on Thursday.
Several regional leaders were at the local airport to welcome him.
He’s scheduled to hold talks over the rising tension in the region.
A few weeks ago, HirShabelle President Ali Gudlawe sacked Ali Jeyte as Governor of Hiiraan.
In response, Jeyte declared Hiiraan a separate state from HirShabelle.
Consequently, the political temperature has risen to dangerous levels.
