President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud has reorganized the structure of the Somali National Armed Forces (SNAF).
The President announced the appointment of new top military officers to head fresh departments.
Those appointed in the reorganization announced on Thursday include Brigadier General Ahmed Abdullahi, who will now command the Special Forces.
President Mohamud appointed Colonel Ahmed Isse as the commander of the army’s training department.
Lieutenant Colonel Ahmed Beeryare and Lieutenant Colonel Ibrahim Mohamed will head the intelligence and logistics departments respectively.
