President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud has tested negative for COVID-19.
Last week on Friday, the Somali President announced that he had tested positive for COVID-19. However, he was quick to add that he was asymptomatic.
On June 29, information from the Office of the President indicates that he has now tested negative.
Abdikarin Ali Kaar, the President’s official spokesperson, broke the news to the public during his interview with the media.
Kaar added that President Mohamud would address the nation shortly about his health.
President Mohamud tested positive immediately after returning to Somalia from his official visit to the United Arab Emirates (UAE).
He has been in self-isolation since then.
