President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud has traveled to the regional state of Puntland to attend the inauguration of President Said Abdullahi Deni.
The Somali President traveled to the regional state on Thursday.
Although the two leaders have not enjoyed the best of relationships in the recent past, the decision by President Mohamud to attend Deni’s inauguration is likely to improve matters.
Deni won this month’s presidential elections in Puntland.
Consequently, he’s scheduled to serve his second term in office as the President of Puntland, which is the oldest regional state in Somalia.
