Somali President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud has vowed to proceed with the ongoing constitutional review.
President Mohamud made the vow during Friday prayers.
He said that the government could not abandon the process. Instead, it would proceed to complete the review and all the necessary amendments.
Furthermore, he denied the accusations by opposition leaders that he intends to extend his term in office.
He reassured the public that Somalia would hold the next polls on May 15, 2026 without fail.
