Prime Minister Hamza Abdi Barre of Somalia held talks with Pakistani President Dr. Arif Alvi in Mina, Saudi Arabia.
They are in Mina to join other Muslims from around the world in celebrating Hajj.
The Somali and Pakistani leaders discussed wide-ranging issues pertaining to development and security.
They agreed to pursue improved cooperation in sectors such as fishing and agriculture.
Prime Minister Barre and President Dr. Alvi also agreed on the importance of improved cooperation in energy, livestock, and the fight against terrorism.
Their meeting heralded a crucial first step in strengthening ties between Somalia and Pakistan.
