Several religious leaders in Somalia vowed to work together to end Female Genital Mutilation (FGM) in the country.
The religious leaders, from different parts of the country, met during the International Day of the Girl Child, which was celebrated on October 11.
They gathered at a function organized by the Ifrah Foundation, an organization committed to ending FGM in Somalia, on October 13.
Journalists, activists, and representatives from several organizations were also at the event.
Global Media Campaign (GMC), which trains media activists and influencers to speak out against FGM, was also represented at the function.
