Somali Senator Urges Deni and Madobe to Talk to Farmaajo about Prime Minister

A Somali Senator has urged President Said Abdullahi Deni and President Ahmed Islam Madobe of Puntland and Jubbaland respectively to talk to President Mohamed Farmaajo about appointing a permanent Prime Minister.

Somalia has been without a permanent premier since late July when the House of Representatives voted to pass a motion of no confidence against the immediate former Prime Minister Hassan Ali Khaire.

Since then, President Farmaajo appointed Mahdi M. Gulaid, who had been the Deputy Prime Minister under Khaire, as the new Acting Prime Minister.

However, Senator Abdi Hassan Awale Qeybdid has now urged both Deni and Madobe to use their proximity to Farmaajo during the ongoing talks on elections in Mogadishu to convince the President to appoint a new Prime Minister.
