Somali soldiers who have been training in Eritrea are set to return home soon following growing criticism from members of the public.
Thousands of young Somalis have been receiving military training in Eritrea.
The news first came to light late last year before picking up steam in early 2021.
All that time, the Federal Government of Somalia (FGS) has consistently refuted these reports and claimed that no Somali is in Eritrea undergoing training.
Somali parents took to the mainstream media to voice concerns of their missing children after claiming that the government took these young men and women to Eritrea for military training secretly.
Nevertheless, there are reports that the thousands of Somali youths could return home in the next few weeks as opposition parties in the country continue to berate the government for this scandal.
Sources told the press that these soldiers would then be posted to Jubbaland and Southwest states.
