Somali Spy Chief Meets Counterparts from Ethiopia and Eritrea

The head of National Intelligence and Security Agency (NISA) held a meeting with his counterparts from Ethiopia and Eritrea.

The meeting between the three spy chiefs took place on Friday, October 16 in Addis Ababa.

According to multiple sources, the three spy chiefs were in Ethiopia’s capital for a series of secret talks whose agenda remains unclear.

Nevertheless, it is worth noting that their meeting takes place a week after President Mohamed Abdullahi Farmaajo of Somalia was in Eritrea on a 2-day official visit.

Similarly, it also takes place a few days after President Isaias Afwerki of Eritrea was in Ethiopia on a surprise visit.

Sources in Villa Somalia indicate that the meeting between the three spy chiefs could be discussing the upcoming elections in Somalia.

Farmaajo would be seeking reelection in the upcoming polls.

One of his closest confidants, Fahad Yasin, who is the Director of NISA, is in Addis Ababa for the meetings with the other spy chiefs.
