Somali Youth Empowered as Third Entrepreneurship Bootcamp Gets Underway

Mogadishu, Somalia – The Somali Business Incubation Cohort 3 Bootcamp has officially commenced in Mogadishu and Hargeisa, bringing together 130 aspiring entrepreneurs eager to transform their business ideas into sustainable ventures.

The program, supported by the European Union in Somalia and the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO), is being implemented through HarHub and SIMAD iLab. It follows the success of previous rounds, which trained 60 participants in collaboration with iRiseHub, many of whom have since gone on to establish promising enterprises.

Over the course of the bootcamp, participants will receive intensive training, mentorship, and practical guidance designed to sharpen their entrepreneurial skills. They will also have the opportunity to pitch their business concepts to a panel of experts, with the most promising ideas advancing as part of the third incubation cohort.

Organizers emphasize that the initiative not only supports individual innovators but also plays a wider role in strengthening Somalia’s private sector. By fostering youth-led businesses, the program seeks to expand job opportunities, promote inclusive economic growth, and contribute to long-term stability.

The launch of the third cohort underscores a growing commitment to equipping Somali youth with the tools they need to succeed in an increasingly competitive market, ensuring that innovation and entrepreneurship continue to shape the country’s development trajectory.
