Today in Mogadishu, the National Identification and Registration Authority (NIRA) took a landmark step in strengthening Somalia’s digital infrastructure by officially launching three pivotal digital systems aimed at enhancing the country’s National ID framework.
The newly introduced systems include HUBIYE Verification Platform, which is a digital tool designed to verify identities in real-time, enhancing trust and reducing fraud across public and private sectors.
The second one is e-Aqoonsi Mobile App, a user-friendly application that allows citizens to access their digital IDs and related services on their smartphones, ensuring convenience and accessibility.
NIRA also launched the Certificate Delivery System (CDS), a streamlined platform that facilitates the secure issuance and delivery of official identity certificates.
These innovations mark a significant milestone in Somalia’s journey toward a secure, inclusive, and technology-driven identity system.
By digitizing and modernizing the ID infrastructure, NIRA is not only bolstering national security and service delivery but also empowering citizens with easier access to identification services.
This development aligns with the government’s broader digital transformation agenda and commitment to building a resilient, connected Somalia.
