Mogadishu, Somalia – Somalia’s National Disaster Management Agency (SoDMA) Commissioner Mahamuud Moallim met with Chinese Ambassador Wang Yu on Tuesday in Mogadishu to discuss ongoing humanitarian cooperation.
The talks focused on the recent Chinese donation of 1,226 tons of relief aid to communities affected by conflict with Al-Shabaab, particularly in Hiiraan region.
Both sides also explored ways to enhance SoDMA’s institutional capacity, including training opportunities for Somali staff and technical support aimed at improving the agency’s overall effectiveness in crisis response.
Ambassador Wang reaffirmed China’s commitment to supporting Somalia’s recovery and resilience efforts.
