Somalia and China are to strengthen bilateral relations.
Both nations agreed to pursue stronger relations following a meeting between Hamze Aden Hadow and Chen Wendi.
Hadow is the Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation while Wendi is the Charge d’Affaires at the Chinese Embassy in Mogadishu.
They met on Monday to discuss various issues pertaining to their nations.
They agreed on the need for strengthening the long-standing relations between Somalia and China.
Further, they agreed on improved collaboration in technological and economic fields.
Chen reassured Hadow of the important role that Somalia and the African continent play in the affairs of China.
On his part, Hadow expressed gratitude to China for the support it has continuously given to Somalia on international forums.
