Somalia’s Foreign Minister, Ahmed Moallim Fiqi, and Egypt’s Foreign Minister, Badr Abdelatty, spoke on Sunday on the effect of the recent Tripartite Ankara Declaration.
Their discussions were on last week’s agreement in Ankara between Somalia and Ethiopia.
President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud and Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed of Somalia and Ethiopia respectively signed the agreement in the presence of Türkiye President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan.
According to an official statement, the ministers emphasized their commitment to continued joint coordination and preparations for a planned tripartite ministerial meeting involving the foreign ministers of Egypt, Somalia, and Eritrea.
This collaboration underscores the growing importance of regional alliances in addressing shared challenges and fostering stability in the Horn of Africa.
