Somalia and Germany to Cooperate in Climate Security

Somalia and Germany will cooperate to find climate security solutions at the regional and global levels.

This emerged on September 24 during a meeting between ministers from the two nations in New York.

Khadija Mohamed Al-Makhzumi and Annalena Baerbock met on the sidelines of the 77th United Nations General Assembly (UNGA).

Al-Makhzumi is Somalia’s Minister of Environment and Climate Change.

Baerbock serves the German government as the Minister of Foreign Affairs.

During their meeting, the two ministers agreed that solutions for climate security on the regional as well as global stage are necessary.
