Nairobi, Kenya – The Somali Ambassador to Kenya, Jabril Ibrahim Abdulle, on Thursday hosted Dr. Adarsh Swaika, the High Commissioner of the Republic of India, for a high-level meeting in Nairobi aimed at strengthening bilateral cooperation between the two nations.
Their discussions centered on expanding partnerships in trade, education, healthcare, and institutional capacity building—key areas that both sides view as vital to fostering long-term stability and growth. The talks also built on the momentum from the recent bilateral ministerial meeting held on the sidelines of the Non-Aligned Movement (NAM) Mid-Term Ministerial Conference in Kampala, Uganda.
Ambassador Abdulle highlighted the importance of deepening people-to-people ties and broadening collaboration in areas that directly impact livelihoods and governance. He noted that Somalia values India’s continued engagement and technical expertise, particularly in advancing education and health systems that support sustainable development.
Both diplomats exchanged views on regional developments and reaffirmed their shared commitment to promoting peace, prosperity, and inclusive progress in the Horn of Africa and South Asia. The meeting underscored a growing partnership grounded in mutual respect, shared priorities, and a vision for a more interconnected and resilient future.
