Somalia and Somaliland have agreed a roadmap for resolving their differences.
President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud and President Muse Bihi Abdi of Somalia and Somaliland respectively agreed on the roadmap after historic talks held in Djibouti.
They met under the mediation of Djibouti’s President Ismail Omar Guelleh on Friday.
Further, they agreed to cooperate on security matters. The neighboring nations are also to work closely in fighting organized crime.
Restoration of peace and stability in conflict areas in both Somalia and Somaliland will also take priority.
The roadmap for resolving their differences will be out within the next 30 days.
Ahmed Moallim Fiqi and Mohamed Kahin Ahmed, the ministers of interior in their respective nations, signed the agreement on behalf of Somalia and Somaliland respectively.
