Somalia and Uganda to Strengthen Security Cooperation

Somalia and Uganda have promised to strengthen their cooperation in the security and military sectors.

This emerged following a meeting between the defense ministers from the two countries.

Somalia’s Abdulkadir Mohamed Nur met with Uganda’s Vincent B. Ssempijja in Mogadishu on Saturday, June 11.

The meeting took place at the offices of the Ministry of Defense in Mogadishu.

Nur and Ssempijja agreed that their respective nations must strengthen cooperation to improve security.

Uganda continues to play a crucial role in the security of Somalia.

It has contributed a significant number of soldiers to the African Union Transition Mission in Somalia (ATMIS).
