Somalia and the World Food Programme (WFP) will collaborate in strengthening the East African nation’s social protection systems.
This was revealed on Wednesday following a meeting between Dr. Mohamed Elmi and El-Khidir Daloum in Mogadishu.
Minister of Labour and Social Affairs Dr. Elmi hosted Daloum at the ministry’s offices.
Daloum is the WFP Representative and Country Director for Somalia.
The labour minister described his meeting and subsequent discussions with the delegation from WFP Somalia as “productive.”
He indicated that the focus on strengthening national social protection systems is crucial for improving the welfare of all Somalis in the country.
