Somalia has announced plans to improve the quality of education countrywide.

Farah Sheikh Abdulkadir announced that the Federal Government of Somalia has prepared a roadmap to ensure that Somalis in the country receive the highest quality of education.

Abdulkadir spoke in his capacity as the Minister of Education, Culture, and Higher Education.

He indicated that the ministry would enhance the quality of the curriculum.

The qualifications of teachers employed in primary and secondary schools around the country would receive in-depth scrutiny too.

Education minister Abdulkarir also mentioned that students would now take more time in university.

Previously, university courses used to take three years.

However, the ministry proposes to increase this to either four or five years.
