Somalia and Azerbaijan Boost Cooperation in Youth and Sports

Baku, Azerbaijan – A high-level Somali delegation, led by Minister of Youth and Sports Mohamed Abdulkadir Ali, has visited Baku, Azerbaijan to enhance bilateral cooperation in youth empowerment and athletic development.

During the visit, Mohamed met with Azerbaijani Minister Farid Gayibov to discuss strengthening and expanding the partnership, with emphasis on developing youth policies, cultural exchange, and integrating youth programs.

The officials had detailed discussions about technical support and capacity building, agreeing on cooperation in sports training, athlete development, and joint projects to benefit youth in both nations.

Both ministers committed to enhancing cooperation between their ministries, promising to create opportunities for sports-interested youth and address youth needs through shared expertise and resources.

The official visit lays a strong foundation for deeper bilateral relations between Somalia and Azerbaijan. The discussions are expected to result in a formal Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) that will advance sustainable development in youth and sports sectors.
