A series of bombings in two of Somalia’s largest cities left five people dead and 15 others injured on Saturday.
In the first incident, which took place in Baidoa, the capital of Somalia’s semiautonomous state of Southwest, a bomb exploded at a government-manned security checkpoint.
Consequently, the explosion left five people dead and eight others nursing injuries. The injured were rushed to nearby hospitals where they are receiving treatment.
Moments later, a second explosion occurred in Mogadishu when a suicide bomber driving his vehicle, blew himself up just outside the government revenue headquarters.
In the second incident, seven people were injured. Among them were security guards working at the revenue offices.
No group has claimed responsibility for the two attacks, which resemble similar ones that Al-Shabaab has carried out around the country in the past.
