Somalia has briefed the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) on the success of its deforestation strategies.
Hassan Hussein Mohamed provided the latest details of the deforestation strategies while addressing FAO’s 27th Session of the Committee of Forestry in Rome.
Mohamed attended the conference in his capacity as the Minister of Livestock, Forestry, and Range in the Somali government.
In his address, the minister focused on mitigating the adverse effects of environmental degradation and climate change.
This briefing included discussing comprehensive plans to enhance sustainable agricultural and livestock management practices, which are crucial for improving food security and livelihoods in the country.
FAO continues to be actively involved in Somalia, supporting initiatives to bolster agricultural productivity and resilience against climate impacts.
