Somalia has celebrated the 61st anniversary of its diplomatic relations with China.
The East African nation has enjoyed solid diplomatic ties with China since attaining its independence in 1960.
On December 15, it marked yet another milestone in its relations with China.
Somalia was the first country in East Africa to establish diplomatic ties with China. It did so on December 14, 1960.
Since then, China has been one of Somalia’s staunchest international partners.
In the last few months, the Chinese government has donated millions of COVID-19 vaccines to Somalia.
