President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud has reaffirmed Somalia’s dedication to managing competing foreign interests, stating that engagements with nations like Türkiye and the United Arab Emirates are guided by the principle of “Somalia at peace with itself and its neighbors.”
In an interview with The East African, the President highlighted Türkiye’s investments in Somalia’s blue economy and American firms’ involvement in the oil and gas sector. “We are doing everything above board,” he emphasized, underscoring transparency in the country’s partnerships.
