Somalia Condemns Israeli Strikes in Doha as Breach of Qatar’s Sovereignty

Mogadishu – Somalia’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs has strongly denounced what it described as “recent military actions” by Israeli forces targeting residential neighborhoods in Doha, Qatar.

In a statement released on Monday, the ministry declared that the attacks not only endangered civilians but also constituted a violation of Qatar’s sovereignty and international humanitarian law. The government stressed that the deliberate targeting of non-combatants and civilian infrastructure undermines international norms designed to protect innocent lives during conflict.

The Somali government expressed solidarity with Qatar, affirming that the assault represents a dangerous escalation that risks destabilizing the wider Gulf region. Mogadishu emphasized that any form of aggression against sovereign states erodes regional security and runs counter to the principles of the United Nations Charter.

Somalia further urged the international community, particularly the United Nations and the Arab League, to take decisive steps to halt such actions and hold those responsible accountable. The ministry reiterated Somalia’s consistent position in support of peace, justice, and the protection of civilians in conflict zones.

This condemnation comes at a time when tensions remain high across the Middle East, with regional leaders warning that unchecked hostilities could spill over and intensify instability.
