Somalia has declared that it will not accept mediation in maritime dispute with Kenya.
Ali Mohamed Omar, the State Minister of Foreign Affairs, rejected the offer for mediation.
Its maritime dispute with Kenya has lasted over two years.
According to Omar, Somalia will never enter talks with Kenya to find solutions for the dispute.
He was responding to queries from Members of Parliament (MPs) on the issue.
Legislators wanted clarification on rumors that Kenya’s President William Ruto wanted dialogue to resolve the issue.
Apparently, President Ruto reached out to Djiboutian President Ismael Guelleh to broker a deal with President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud of Somalia.
