Somalia is interested in pursuing closer cooperation with Egypt.
This news emerged on November 7 following a meeting between Ambassador Ilyas Sheikh Omar and Ambassador Ahmed Abdilatif.
Omar is Somalia’s Ambassador Egypt and Somalia’s Permanent Representative to the Arab League.
On his part, Ambassador Abdilatif is the Director of the International Center for Conflict Resolution and Peace in Cairo.
Ambassador Omar hailed the incredible work of the International Center for Conflict Resolution and Peace in Cairo in promoting peace and security in developing countries.
He also commended the organization’s work in countering the sort of extremism that often leads to terrorism.
Omar praised Egypt for the amazing work it does in promoting peace around the world.
Ambassador Omar expressed the hope of the Federal Government of Somalia (FGS) in pursuing closer relations with Egypt.
