Somalia, Egypt Reaffirm Strategic Ties in Diplomatic Exchange

Cairo, Egypt – Somali Ambassador to Egypt, Ali Abdi Aware, held a diplomatic meeting with Egyptian Presidential Secretary Ahmed Ridha, during which both parties exchanged warm national greetings and reaffirmed the historic partnership between Somalia and Egypt.

During the meeting, Ridha conveyed a message from President Abdel Fattah Al-Sisi, extending heartfelt congratulations to the people and government of Somalia on the occasion of the country’s Independence Day, celebrated on July 1st. He underscored Egypt’s unwavering support for Somalia’s stability, unity, and sovereignty.

In response, Ambassador Aware delivered President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud’s sincere congratulations to Egypt on the anniversary of the June 30th Revolution. He commended Egypt’s progress and reiterated Somalia’s commitment to deepening cooperation across political, economic, and cultural domains.

The two sides acknowledged the longstanding brotherly relations between Mogadishu and Cairo, founded on shared Arab and African identities, historical solidarity, and mutual aspirations for peace and development. Discussions also touched on collaborative opportunities in higher education, trade, and regional security.

This diplomatic engagement highlights ongoing efforts by both nations to strengthen bilateral ties and promote strategic alignment in regional affairs.
