Reports from the EAC Secretariat show that Somalia’s membership in the regional economic bloc is now only a matter of time.
Peter Mathuki, the EAC Secretary-General, confirmed this development.
Regional presidents hold an Ordinary Heads of State Summit from November 23-24 during which they will formally welcome Somalia to the bloc.
Secretary-General Mathuki was speaking at the Africa Investment Forum that took place on November 9 in Marrakech, Morocco.
