Somalia Exports 22,000 Camels and Goats to Gulf States

On Wednesday, Somali traders shipped 22,000 camels and goats to various Gulf States.

The camels and goats were from Bosaso seaport in Puntland, Somalia.

Their shipment to Gulf nations highlights the ongoing significance of Somalia’s livestock export trade.

Livestock exports are a cornerstone of Somalia’s economy, with Gulf countries being key markets due to their demand for halal meat and livestock for religious and cultural purposes.

This trade not only sustains livelihoods for Somali pastoralists but also reinforces economic ties between Somalia and the Gulf nations, contributing to regional trade and economic development.

Bosaso seaport, as a strategic hub, plays a crucial role in facilitating these exports.
