On Wednesday, more than 18,000 sheep and goats arrived at Salalah Port in Oman after they were exported from Somalia.
The Ministry of Agriculture and Fisheries released a statement confirming that the country received 18,610 sheep and goats to boost availability of food.
Further, the statement indicated that the ministry took this decision to ensure that nothing disrupts the supply of local and foreign food items.
Additionally, the ministry said the animals would go into quarantine immediately to undergo exhaustive evaluation to determine that they are safe for human consumption.
