Changsha, China – Somalia’s Foreign Minister Abdisalam Hadliye Ali met with Somali students in Changsha this week, commending their academic efforts and encouraging them to act as cultural ambassadors for Somalia abroad.
Speaking to students studying in various Chinese universities, Abdisalam praised their commitment and resilience, calling them vital to Somalia’s future.
“You are the bridge between our nations and a symbol of hope for Somalia’s development,” he said.
The minister also visited the historic Yuelu Academy and the African Studies Institute at Hunan University, where he lauded China’s growing support for scientific and cultural collaboration with Africa.
He emphasized the importance of deepening educational and research ties, noting that China’s engagement continues to play a key role in advancing knowledge exchange and innovation across the continent.
The visit highlights Somalia’s commitment to strengthening bilateral relations with China through education and cultural diplomacy.
