The Federal Government of Somalia (FGS) has given the Ethiopian Ambassador 72 hours to leave the country.
Through the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Somalia said that Ambassador Muktar Mohamed Ware has two days to leave and go back home.
The move follows reports that Ethiopia hosted a delegation from the regional state of Puntland earlier on Wednesday.
Further reports indicate that Ethiopia and Puntland are on the verge of signing multiple agreements.
Puntland took this step after criticizing Somali legislators for endorsing the amendments to the Provisional Constitution on Saturday last week.
Puntland vowed not to work with any federal institution or recognize the federal government. Instead, it seeks to operate independently.
