The Federal Government of Somalia (FGS) shut down four radio stations linked to Al-Shabaab.
Daud Aweis, the Minister of Information, Culture, and Tourism confirmed this during his press briefing on Saturday.
Aweis was briefing the country on the government’s achievements in combating Al-Shabaab.
He added that the government had also taken the war on terrorism to social media platforms where it removed over 15,000 posts for promoting extremism and violence.
“In the ongoing offensives, our troops have already killed 3,795 Al-Shabaab fighters,” Aweis said.
“The government has gone further by reclaiming 1,000km of territory from the terrorists,” added the information minister.
