The Federal Government of Somalia (FGS) is spending more money on wages, according to the latest report from the Ministry of Finance.
In its latest report, the finance ministry showed that wages and operations now consume as much as 77.1 percent of all expenditures by the government.
The figure is a massive increase over the last three years.
According to the report, wages are now at 48.7 percent in 2020, which is a drop of around 4 percentage points compared to the same period last year.
