Somalia has expressed its gratitude to Qatar for extending humanitarian assistance towards Somalis affected by the ongoing drought.
The drought has left close to 4.5 million people vulnerable to diseases and starvation.
Deputy Prime Minister Mahdi M. Gulaid held a meeting with Hassan Hamza, the Qatari Ambassador to Somalia.
Their meeting took place on March 17.
Gulaid expressed Somalia’s gratitude to Ambassador Hamza for the drought response efforts that the Qatari government has put in.
The Deputy Prime Minister hosted Ambassador Hamza at his Mogadishu office.
