Somalia’s tenure at the top of the Arab League Education, Cultural, and Scientific Organization (ALESCO) leadership has ended.
Representatives from the East African nation handed over the ALESCO leadership to Iraq on Saturday, May 21.
Abdirahman Mohamud, the State Minister for Education, attended the meeting and performed the handing-over duties on behalf of Somalia.
This year’s event took place in Tunis, Tunisia.
Somalia has been in charge of leading the organization over the last two years. Iraq also takes over the leadership role for the next two years.
