Somalia has a much higher percentage of women business owners than men.
The latest report by Somalia National Bureau of Statistics (SNBS) shows that more Somali women (56.7%) own businesses compared to only 35.4% men owners.
Only 7.9% of the businesses in the country are jointly owned by both men and women.
Sharmarke Farah, the Director General of SNBS, commended the amazing strides Somali women have made.
He urged the country to continue supporting and empowering women in business.
