Somalia has received $260 million from various sources from January-June 2022 for drought response measures.
The United Nations issued a report titled Humanitarian Funding Overview for Somalia.
It published the report on June 10.
The report lists the United States as the leading contributor. Other countries that have donated large sums include Canada and the United Kingdom.
Nevertheless, the UN report shows that a deficit of $1.2 remains to ensure that the East African nation receives extensive humanitarian support.
The funds have enabled the contributors to provide humanitarian assistance to more than 2.8 million vulnerable Somalis in the country.
