Somalia hosted the National Malaria Strategic Plan Workshop in Garowe.
The workshop, which took place in the capital of the regional state of Puntland on Sunday, attracted participants from the federal government.
Representatives of the Federal Member States (FMS) were at the workshop too.
United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) and the World Health Organization (WHO) sent their officers to attend the workshop.
Although malaria prevalence is low in Somalia, nonetheless it accounts for three percent of post-neonatal deaths in children under the age of five in the country.
