The Somalia Humanitarian Forum (Country Humanitarian Forum) will take place in Dhusamareb, the capital of Galmudug, on December 9, 2024.
Organized by SoDMA (Somalia Disaster Management Agency), this quarterly event provides a platform for government agencies, international humanitarian organizations, and local partners to collaborate on strategies to address Somalia’s critical humanitarian challenges.
The forum is expected to focus on pressing issues such as food security amidst ongoing droughts and climate shocks.
Participants will discuss internally displaced persons (IDPs) and durable solutions as well as strengthening the humanitarian response in conflict-affected areas.
Building resilience among vulnerable populations through sustainable programs will feature prominently in their discussions too.
This meeting underscores Somalia’s commitment to coordinating efforts between local and international actors to tackle its humanitarian crisis effectively.
