Somalia has joined other Intergovernmental Authority on Development (IGAD) member states in approving the 2021-2025 Blue Economy Strategy.
Representatives from all the IGAD member states have been gathering in Addis Ababa this week to discuss the strategy for the next five years.
Mahad Mohamed Hassan, the Somali Deputy Minister of Ports and Marine Transport, led the delegation from his country to Addis Ababa for the meeting.
Specifically, the weeklong meeting featured ministers under whose dockets the blue economy falls.
