Somalia, Kuwait Seal Strategic Cooperation Pacts

Mogadishu – Somali Foreign Minister Abdisalam Ali and Kuwaiti Foreign Minister Abdullah Ali Abdullah Al-Yahya have signed a series of landmark agreements aimed at strengthening bilateral ties and institutional collaboration between the two nations.

The accords include the creation of a Joint Cooperation Committee to oversee and expand mutual engagements across political, economic, and cultural fields. A memorandum on bilateral consultations was also inked, providing a framework for regular high-level dialogues on regional and international issues of shared interest.

In a significant boost to diplomatic capacity building, the parties agreed on a partnership between the Kuwaiti Saud Al-Nasser Al-Sabah Diplomatic Institute and Somalia’s Diplomatic Studies Institute. This collaboration will focus on training, knowledge exchange, and enhancing the professional skills of diplomats from both countries.

The agreements mark a new chapter in Somalia–Kuwait relations, underscoring both governments’ commitment to closer coordination in pursuit of stability, development, and mutual prosperity.
