Somalia has labeled Kenya one of its most important international allies.
Ahmed Isse Awad, Somalia’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, said, “Kenya is one of our most important international partners.”
He said that the situation has not changed despite the occasional hitches affecting diplomatic and trade relations between the two nations.
Awad stated that Somalia would not give up on its policy of rapprochement with Kenya.
He made this announcement a day after Somalia reopened its embassy to Kenya.
The building housing the country’s old embassy had been grabbed by private businesspeople in Nairobi, the capital city of Kenya.
However, on Saturday, November 14, the old embassy was reopened.
Awad reminded Somalia’s neighbors that the Federal Government of Somalia would always act in a way that promotes trade and social integration.
