Somalia has launched a fresh campaign to immunize more children in the country.
On Saturday, the government launched a new national task force that will focus on immunization as well as the eradication of polio in Somalia.
Prime Minister Hamza Abdi Barre attended the launching ceremony.
He was with Dr. Haji Ali Adam, the federal Minister of Health, and other senior government officials.
The Prime Minister said that the task force is also responsible for ensuring survival of Somali children.
In his speech, Barre said that improved immunization, eradication of polio, and child survival would strengthen public health infrastructure in the country.
