Somalia launched the COVID-19 vaccination exercise on March 16.
The East African nation launched the exercise a day after receiving the first batch of COVID-19 cases.
On Monday, Somalia received 300,000 doses of the Oxford AstraZeneca vaccine from COVAX.
The country is in line to receive over 1.2 million doses.
De Martini Hospital, which is in Mogadishu, was the venue of the launching ceremony for the vaccination exercise.
Officials from the Ministry of Health and other ministries were present at Tuesday’s event, which targets frontline workers.
Some of the frontline workers targeted include health personnel and security agents.
