Somalia Launches the Food Security Factsheet

Minister of Planning, Investment, and Economic Development, Mohamed Abdirahman Beenebeene, launched the Somalia Food Security Factsheet, a critical document for addressing the nation’s persistent food insecurity.

The factsheet provides comprehensive data and insights on the state of food security in Somalia, helping policymakers, development partners, and humanitarian actors design targeted and effective interventions.

The launch underscores Somalia’s commitment to enhancing food security through evidence-based strategies, particularly in the face of challenges such as recurrent droughts, conflict, and economic instability.

While launching the factsheet in Mogadishu this week, the planning minister stated that it aligns with ongoing efforts to promote resilience and self-reliance among vulnerable communities around the country.
