Somalia Not in the List of African Countries with Confirmed Cases of Coronavirus

Eleven African countries have reported Coronavirus cases within their borders. These include Egypt, Algeria, and Burkina Faso. South Africa, Senegal, and Nigeria have added their names to this list. Togo, Tunisia, Morocco, and Cameroon also report the presence of patients diagnosed with the virus that threatens to turn into an epidemic soon.

Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) is the latest African country to report a positive test for Coronavirus. However, Somalia is yet to report such cases. Instead, Somalia has put a few measures in place to prepare for the disease that has driven the world into panic mode. These include setting aside a facility that hosts all suspected cases before quarantining them.

The disease is hitting the global economy hard. Despite missing in that list, Somalia (and its neighbor Kenya) is among countries with cases of suspected COVID-19. In Africa, 33 of the continent’s 55 countries have put one or more people under investigation. Throughout Africa, 105 cases are under investigation.
